How we handle your personal data at BetWest
Last reviewed: 9 October 2026. We review this document when our cookie categories or the documents we ask for change, and the version published on our site is the current one.
1. Scope and who we are
1.1 Our role
We are BetWest, the operator of the casino and sportsbook described on our site, and in this document “we” means our team handling the accounts of members in the United Kingdom. We decide what data is needed to run an account, and we use it for the purposes set out in clause 3.
1.2 Related notices
Our site also publishes a Privacy Notice and a Cookie Notice, linked in the footer. This document explains in plain terms what applies to a UK account; the notices on the site remain the full statement of our practices.
1.3 Where to send a question about your data
Questions about personal data go to [email protected] or to live chat, which is open 24 hours a day. Please quote your username, so that we can find the account.
2. Data we receive
2.1 Registration data
When you register you choose a country and the account currency, enter an email address and a password, and accept the terms. We keep these details with the account. The currency available depends on the jurisdiction.
2.2 Verification documents
We may ask for a valid identity document that is legible and not expired, a proof of residence issued within the last 3 or 6 months, proof of ownership of the payment methods you use, and a transaction history from the last 1 to 3 months. The list is not exhaustive and may vary from account to account.
2.3 Payment and play records
We hold the record of your deposits, withdrawals, bonuses and game rounds. You can see part of it yourself in Balance History in your profile, and the game history of a live round is shown inside the live game window.
2.4 Messages to support
When you write to us, we keep the message and anything attached to it, such as a screenshot of an error, a screenshot of a transaction from a payment provider or an uploaded document.
2.5 Browsing data
Cookies and similar technologies record information about your visits, the pages you view and the links you follow, to the extent described in clause 4.
3. Why we use it
3.1 Running the account
We use registration and payment data to open the account, credit deposits, process withdrawals and tell you by email when a withdrawal is cancelled. A cancellation email comes from the Finance Department and gives the reason.
3.2 Verification and anti-money-laundering
We apply customer due diligence and procedures to reduce the risk of money laundering. Documents are used to confirm who you are, where you live and that the payment method is yours. Until verification is complete, deposits and withdrawals may be blocked.
3.3 Age and duplicate accounts
We use the data to check that a member is over 18 and that each person holds only one account. A duplicate account, once recognised, is closed.
3.4 Handling your documents
A document is checked against its type and its age. It may be rejected when it was issued too long ago, has been modified, is expired, is blurred or filtered, is damaged or incomplete, or is a scan or screenshot. Once a document is uploaded successfully you do not need to tell support; we write to you if more is needed. Verification is typically completed within 24 to 48 hours of receiving everything.
3.5 Support and complaints
We use your messages, attachments and account records to answer questions and to review complaints. When a deposit has not arrived, we ask for the payment method, the date and amount, any error message and a screenshot of the transaction, and we use them only to trace that payment.
4. Cookies
4.1 Categories
We use four kinds of cookie. Essential cookies serve security and navigation. Functional cookies remember preferences such as language and region. Performance cookies track how visitors move through the site. Targeting cookies record the pages visited and the links followed.
4.2 Consent
Essential and functional cookies rest on our legitimate business interests and do not need consent. Performance and targeting cookies need your explicit consent, and you may refuse targeting cookies.
4.3 First-party and third-party cookies
First-party cookies are created by us and can be accessed only from our site. Third-party cookies are placed on your device by partner companies for analytics, advertising and social media.
4.4 Duration and control
Session cookies are deleted when the browser closes. Persistent cookies stay for a set period after browsing ends. You can manage cookies through your browser settings or your device controls.
5. Sharing and third parties
5.1 Third-party cookies
Partner companies receive information through the third-party cookies described in clause 4.3, when you have consented to the categories that use them.
5.2 Payment providers
A withdrawal is paid out through the payment method you name, and an e-wallet or bank handles the transaction on its side. Withdrawals go only to an account in your own name.
6. Your choices
6.1 Changing details
From your profile you can change only your PIN. For any other change to your details, write to support with the correct information and the reason, and we will review the request.
6.2 Recovering access
A forgotten password is recovered with the Forgot your password link on the login screen. A forgotten username or registered email address needs support, by live chat or email.
6.3 Closing an account
To deactivate or close an account, or to reopen one, contact our support team by live chat or email. A request for a break or an exclusion from gambling is handled in the same way.
6.4 Complaints about data
A formal complaint is sent by email to our support team and is reviewed by the responsible department. The complaints procedure is part of the general Terms and Conditions.
7. Minors
7.1 Age limit
Only customers over 18 may register. Registration by a person under 18 is prohibited.
7.2 Protecting children’s devices
Where children can use the same device, filtering software such as Net Nanny can limit what they see.
